This residence, located on eighty-five acres in Columbia, Tennessee, responds to the programmatic goals of passive solar design and commercial construction techniques established with the Client during the Programming Phase. The residence, positioned on a knoll at the crest of one of the highest points in the county, is designed to maximize many passive solar concepts. The design and site orientation of the residence also incorporate an observatory in response to the clients' passion for astronomy.
