Tightly located between Memorial Gymnasium and Dudley Field in the heart of the athletic district at Vanderbilt University, Hawkins Field is one of the most unique venues for college baseball. The 32 foot tall left field “green monster” fence, the intimate seating located close to the field, the unique field dimensions, and its on-campus location have consistently made Hawkins Field one of the top ranked college baseball stadiums in the nation. The expansion of the facilities focuses on new player and staff spaces. Utilizing the existing volume of the now abandoned pool in Memorial Gym, this multi-phased project creates three levels of expansion space for the team. The existing player locker room located on the lower level of the adjacent fieldhouse will be completely renovated with new lockers, team room, expanded laundry facility, and new finishes throughout. The second level of the existing fieldhouse will be converted into a Hospitality area, giving both baseball and football fans a gathering area to use before and after games.
