HENDRIX ROOM DINING FACILITY
@ Vanderbilt's McGugin Center
This renovation of the Hendrix Room in the McGugin Center at Vanderbilt University was designed to expand the athletic dining facilities, improve the kitchen and serving areas, and rebrand and elevate the outdated graphics in the existing dining hall. Gilbert|McLaughlin|Casella Architects worked closely with the McGugin Center kitchen staff to understand the unique needs of the food preparation process, and the new kitchen was designed to enlarge the preparation areas, upgrade the kitchen equipment, and streamline the serving process by opening up and reconfiguring the serving line. The dining areas were enlarged and reinvigorated with new interior finishes and graphic displays designed by our office to highlight each individual sport and to integrate the entire athletic program together in this common space.
